One of the aims and objectives of the IMC is to promote the unity and welfare of members of the community through getting acquainted with one another by way of meaningful interaction and communal bonding. To this end, the IFTAR WITH IMC has come to be a permanent program of the IMC held yearly in Ramadan.
It is a spiritual gathering that combines sober reflection that combines elements of brotherhood, sharing, and also giving and donating to the cause of Allah especially for the projects that the IMC is trying to bring forth for the benefit of the Ummah on the Island
The first edition held on the 11th of Ramadan 1444 A.H, corresponding to 2nd April, 2023, at the Rear Admiral Jubril Ayinla Hall of the Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) Central Masjid on Hakeem Dickson Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State, with many dignitaries in attendance
The second edition dubbed IFTAR 2.0 took place at the Masjid Complex of the VGC Muslim Community Central Masjid on Saturday, March 23rd 2024. The lecture which was tagged: The Stage of the Muslim Ummah: Global Challenges, Local Remedies’ delivered by As-Sheikh Hussain Bn Hyacinth. The event was chaired by the Chairman of the VGC Muslim Community, Alhaji Oyedele Kacheef Oyebode.
The Iftar with IMC is usually rotated among the constituent communities for reasons of familiarity, brotherhood, and helping to project IMC at the grassroots. Funds are also raised targeted towards the Muslim Social Infrastructure (MSI) such as world-class hospital, orphanages, cemeteries, IMC halal centers among others
The next edition is billed for hosting at the Ikoyi-Dolphin Muslim Community.
